Before & After: CTBC Bank

The San Gabriel branch of CTBC Bank was set to relocate to a new location which happened to be an old bank. We demolished the existing teller line and ceilings in order to create the new image. One of the two columns visible in the before picture was the starting point for the curved wall to hide the “back of house” facilities. We selected large ceiling tiles to help make the small branch feel larger.

The pantry shown in stages of progress was designed as a mini respite to reflect an island get-away using the “driftwood” cabinets, the ocean blue floor and the tropical green chairs .

Arching back in time

You can see the development of the curved arch during construction. It was conceived as an impressionistic homage to the old Mission construction in the San Gabriel Valley that is depicted in the black and white framed artwork on display.
